Vancouver Canucks defenceman Sami Salo apparently includes a concussion after he required a minimal-bridge hit from Kaira Marchand throughout Saturday's game in Boston.
Based on the Vancouver Province, Canucks gm Mike Gillis confirmed this news on Sunday. Marchand was evaluated a clipping major and game misconduct for that hit that turned Salo in the Boston zone late within the second period.
Play was stopped following the hit, and following a couple of moments Salo could skate from the ice by himself. The blueliner didn't go back to the overall game.
The Canucks' Twitter feed reported that Salo awoke having a headache on Sunday and will also be supervised.
Marchand may have a business call hearing with NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan on Monday.
The 23-year-old Marchand continues to be suspended before. He was handed a 2-game prohibit last March to have an elbow towards the mind of Columbus forward R.J. Umberger.
Marchand seemed to be penalized $2,500 recently for slew-footing Pittsburgh defenceman Matt Niskanen.
